After the highs of returning to work yesterday, now it's time for the lows.
At a full staff meeting today we were told that our college needs to make more cuts.
Around 20 teaching roles will go as the college downsizes and adjusts to education hacks cuts.
Although I have a non-teaching role it doesn't mean I am safe.
I will be strapping up for a rocky ride over the next few months.
Never a dull moment eh?
Today I wore:
Boots - Clarks
Skirt - Gap
Shirt - M & Co
Red is a power color and you wear it well. May you feel empowered during these cutbacks. Education is so important it really makes me sad when classes are cut.

Wishing you the best with your position. It seems like all businesses are downsizing. Hope all goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteHow horrid. Hope all is well for you. It always sounds like you do a great job too. x
ReplyDeleteJust when it all looked like it had started off so well! Hopefully you will be ok but these cuts will no doubt affect one way or another. At least you look bright and upbeat in your shirt!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that. It's the same story everywhere, it makes me so angry! I hope your job is safe at least.
ReplyDeleteYikes Jane!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand - education is life changing. Opportunity provider... and it's getting cuts everywhere. Here too.
Oh it's a horrible insecure time for everyone, isn't it? Particularly in the hard-hit public sector. Good luck. xxx
ReplyDeleteI hope that you will not be cut. The same is happening here....but my position is an assistantship as a student, so I think all will be well.
ReplyDeleteI've heard college enrollments are down...and many students are saying that getting an education has not helped them. I think just getting an education is not enough...as in, you can't just trudge through school and then hope to get a job. New grads need to be professional, polish and well spoken; and need to have been engaged in their education. Sigh...I'll get off my soapbox now!
Love the outfit, red is always so lovely on you.
This is a good look on you as it lengthens rather than shortens the torso.
