The Christmas Day Outfit
What is your recipe for the perfect Christmas Day outfit?
It seems this post is not only on my mind as PleaseMay I was considering the same question yesterday.
I wore the red top and black skirt on Christmas Day in 2008 and the silver dress which was a 2009 Christmas Gift from my husband, on Christmas Day in 2009 and 2010.
And so begins my dilemma.
Skirt and top or dress?
I love getting dressed up and any excuse for a dress is always a good bet in my book.
However, this year I have Christmas Day for 9, maybe 10 guests to prepare for.
As I am only 5ft and half an inch flat shoes are out as I look as if I have escaped from the local pantomime when the photographs are taken.
And that's the thing - Christmas Day is one of the most photographed days of the year so it has to be right.
What is your perfect Christmas Day outfit?

Thanks you so much for the mention hun! And thank you for your fantastic advice too.
ReplyDeleteI shall be shopping my wardrobe rather than purchasing something new, lord knows I have enough in it!
I wear dresses most of the time for work as I find them so much easier rather than gaffing with tops/trousers/skirts. Thats right, I am that lazy!
Comfort and style I think are whats needed when you are cooking and hosting. (I know the feeling as its my turn to. The heels very quickly change to a pair of slippers. Chic no?)
What ever you choose I have no doubt you will look stunning, as you always do. Look forward to seeing the outfit.

Ps good luck in my give away. x
All I want to wear for Christmas is something super adorable, fun, and attention-grabbing. :) Mission accomplished.

Tough one - for me, i think a dress would do the magic :)
ReplyDeleteNow, If you are cooking/serving I guess maybe a skirt+top would work just in case you spill something (let's hope that does not happen) you don't have to change everything -just the top.
I don't know... haven't decided what I'm wearing yet!
ReplyDeleteI did see this little red dress in khols the other day, it's a little overpriced for the quality and I really don't need it... but I might just go and get it.
Chic on the Cheap
You look beautiful in each of them, if I were you I'd hang both up and just pop on what feels right on the day.
ReplyDeleteI've no idea what I'll be wearing, something totally inappropriate and over the top as usual I expect. x
I'm a big fan of separates on Christmas day. I tend to do sparkly top and either a skirt or trousers.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day whatever you wear!! Xx
I really like you in that black velvet dress with boots, very pretty and glamorous.
ReplyDeleteOh tell me about it, saving can be extremely challenging especially trying to save while raising kids.
Love that velvet dress!

The Other Side of Gray
Both are lovely. I'm wearing black pants and a red top - and a Christmas apron. When I'm cooking I'm sure to get food on myself so I try to keep everything washable.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
