Scarf Experiments

Not long to go to my holidays and I am having fun trying to create a minimalist capsule.
We are away for 11 nights and I plan to take a carry-on case only.
I want to keep my clothing as simple as possible.
Today I experimented with the H and M scarf I wore on July 18th.
I wore it under a denim shirt but I think it would look great with my denim skirt and flip flops in the evening.

I got the idea from Terri who is doing amazing things with her 6 item wardrobe.

If you are feeling brave with a scarf you could have a go at turning it into a skirt.

Have you got any tips for using scarves in imaginative ways?

I wore:
Black Leggings -Primark (6)
Top - Scarf
Denim Shirt - Barcelona boutique (21)
Shoes - Clarks (31)
Necklace - Wallis

  1. That's a great scarf and very creative use of it. I am so un-inventive when it comes to repurposing accessories...
I look forward to seeing your capsule vacation wardrobe!

  2. That looks great - how have you wrapped the scarf? Is it tied at the back? Very resourceful use of a scarf!

    1. Hi Lemons,
The scarf is just tied at the back and it did stay in place although it was a bit bumpy if you sat down on a hardback chair!

  3. I often wear mine like that in India when it's too hot to put clothes on! You look fab. Have you tried folding it into a triangle and tying at at one side of your waist, hippy-style? That looks pretty with a gypsy skirt!
Carry-on only? How do you get away with sun cream? x

    1. I am afraid there is a little cheating here Vix. I book one checked-in bag between the 6 of us. With Easyjet that means we get 20k extra between six of us. This is used for towels, toiletries (suncreams, shoes and tennis racquets!

    2. It's not cheating, that makes perfect sense. x

  4. I fear that look would do nothng for my boobs, which need all the help a bra can give them! Very pretty on you though! I'm not especially creative with scarves, they just go round my neck, or occasionally my hair! xx

  5. I'm 'scarf-tying' challenged. I wear scarves often but I'm limited to a few easy tying tricks.

I love your white scarf as tied like a top. You wear it well!

  6. Wow, this is a great idea and looks great too. I love scarves for many uses, not just on my body. I tie them on my suitcases so I know which ones are mine right away (and because I want them to look stylish too)I love them in my hair in a few different ways and if they're large enough I think they look great tied at the hips over some leggins.
11 days with only a carry on? That's a challenge!!

  8. Well, thanks for the credit, but I was looking at this beautiful scarf and thinking I need to try this for the challenge. Only problem is I don't have a scarf this nice!
