Christmas Day Dress

This is the dress my lovely husband bought for me.
The dress is from Saltwater.
I had seen it in a magazine and thought I would treat myself.
Then I saw how much it cost and decided to forget it.
I had left the magazine on the computer table and thought nothing of it.
Until Christmas Day when I opened the present my husband had lovingly wrapped and there it was.
My dream dress.

Danyl Johnson and Lloyd Daniels have the X Factor

I took my youngest son to see his hero - Lloyd Daniels at Southport Theatre where they were headlining a show called "Pop Factory." Each year a local promoter signs up the acts who come 4th and 5th in the X Factor final and brings them to Southport Theatre. When I bought the tickets I knew Lloyd would be there but I couldn't believe my luck when the second act turned out to be Danyl. Both Lloyd and Danyl performed four songs each and were great. Lloyd sang "I'm Yours" and was as cute as ever although a little shy on stage. Not that the groups of screaming teenagers minded. But Danyl was a true showman. He came to the stage from the back of the theatre and walked down the aisle smiling and shaking hands before encouraging the audience to stand up and come to the front of the stage. He performed Purple Rain and A Little Help from My Friends and chatted throughout the breaks. At the end of the show he shook the hands of every other local act who had performed as well as thanking the back stage crew and the audience. Just lovely.

Review Of The Year: December 2009

Red re-emerges as a wardrobe leader and my favourite tan boots make a return.
Plaids, stripes and red revitalise the short dark days.

Review Of The Year: November 2009

The boots and belts return.
And as happened last winter the florals and patterns reappear to brighten the darker days.

Review Of The Year: October 2009

The tan is fading and the colours get darker.

Review Of The Year: September 2009

As the days shorten and cool the warmer earthier colours emerge from my wardrobe.

Review Of The Year: August 2009

I was on holiday for most of August so I was limited to a few weeks for my best selections.
The spots and stripes are still going strong.

Review Of The Year: July 2009

Lots of Stripes and denim this month.

Merry Christmas

Rock Chic

Off to Liverpool to see my friend's son play in his first city gig.
The Purple Soles played in a freezing cold club in the back streets of Liverpool.
I defintely needed this coat.
But I have my eye on a new coat here.
The average age of the crowd was 17.
It took me back.

I wore:
Boots - Tesco
Dress - H & M
Top - Dorothy Perkins

Review Of The Year: June 2009

Summer is finally here.
I love the light, the warmth and the clothes.
Red and cream feature very heavily during this month.
Could it be the Wimbledon strawberries and cream?

Review Of The Year: May 2009

The colours and the clothes are starting to get lighter.
My love affair with stripes began when I refashioned an old barely worn t-shirt and wore it with the ensemble on the left.
I think the outfit on the left with the grey skirt and stripes has to be one of my favourites of the whole year.
It was a day when I hadn't a clue what to wear and went shopping in my closet and found this.
I can just reach out and touch summer.
I just love that feeling.

Review of The Year: April 2009

This has to be one of the best months of the year.
Just check out that blossom.
Every house in my road has a blossom tree in the front garden and come April the road is awash with pink confetti.
The nights are lighter.
The days are longer.
And summer is just a whisper away.
