It is five years ago today since I made my first post on this blog. And to celebrate I have picked five pics from the summer of 2009. H...
I actually think it is the blue wrap cardi that makes it look young and I don't know why but if I picture the outfit without it, it doesn't look schoolgirlish in my head!
ReplyDeleteI agree...I like the skirt. Maybe a different cardigan. like your longline grey one would work well!
ReplyDeleteI think the skirt would work teamed with more sophisticated pieces - shoes not boots, maybe a darker top. Plaid is popular but I think you have to be careful with it - unless you are going for the school or the lumberjack look.

Aw, you shouldn't have let her talk you out of wearing this; it looks fantastic! I agree that a different cardigan would've lessened the schoolgirl vibe, so don't give up on the skirt just yet.
ReplyDeleteOh, but you look so cute in this outfit. And your legs look fabulous! I hope you'll give the skirt another chance.
ReplyDeleteThey just don't get the value of plaid at that age, never enough plaid I say. You look lovely.

I agree with a number of other comments... the skirt is great, it's the cardigan that makes it look perhaps schoolgirl-ish.
ReplyDeleteI'm agreeing with everyone else, as well -- I think the outfit looks terrific. I love the skirt and wrap together. I would wear it in a heartbeat -- and that's coming from a mother of three! :)
ReplyDeleteI really think that was a compliment because you look so young (not that you're old of course!) Lovely colours, especially on you! Ciao. A.
ReplyDeleteAwww...why do kids have to be so brutally honest? You look like no school girl I know! Super cute!
ReplyDeletewell it looks great and you could wear it without the daughter or change to a darker top.... BUT you look so great in it I see you running into Hugh Grant in that book store just like in the movies!!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww but it looks so cute and you were able to pull it well. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'd kill for a compliment like that.... looking like a schoolgirl!! sigh...
ReplyDeleteI would put your daughter's comment in my compliment drawer as well. You look fabulous - I adore tartan skirts!
ReplyDeleteI think you look great! How fantastic to look like a schoolgirl - but wait, isn't that exactly what your daughter is Lol? I would look like a school marm in an outfit like that, I think you should wear it and enjoy it :-)
ReplyDeletelol! I think that your outfit is adorable! perhaps be a little more conservative to your daughter's school and de-accessorize (take off necklace, beret, and perhaps the wrap), maybe add a black cardi or something... and out of her school wear it like you have it now! I think it's really cute.
ReplyDeleteHaha, you had me laughing at the post title as it reminds me of what my husband usually says when i wear certain skirts.
ReplyDeleteI like the outfit and would not let go of that skirt - but, in order to please your daughter i would just change the top to a black turtleneck....
Well, whatever your daughter says, you look absolutely fabulous in this outfit!
