What can I wear with this skirt.....

apart from a black polo?

I bought this skirt from Tesco the other day when I was shopping.
I love it, but whatever I pair it with it doesn't seem right.
I hate black polo /roll necks as they drain the colour from my face.
Blouses never fit as they gape too much at the chest.
I am wishing I hadn't torn off the label even though I do love the skirt.
Any suggestions you stylists out there?

Crazy

My new job has been crazy.
Absolutely crazy.
I have a pastoral role at a sixth form college and I have 167 students in 7 tutor groups to take care of.
I teach 14 45 minute sessions a week and spend the rest of the time conducting 121 interviews with the students and helping the second years with their university applications.
And on top of all that we had two Parents' Evening last week.
So that is my excuse for not posting for a while.
I did manage two outfit pictures though.And honestly - I will try harder next week.

Capsule Wardrobe Challenge Postponed

I apologise for the dearth of posts and comments but life has been full-on with family and my new job.
I have managed to flick around and catch up with everyone on my blog roll but I am sorry if I haven't left a comment.
For the next few weeks I need to focus on my work and have decided to post a weekly round-up instead of a daily post.
As for the questions about Roofball - it is a game where between two and as many players as you want take it in turns to hit a ball with their hand onto a roof and let it bounce back onto the floor.
The idea is you have to hit the ball on the roof within one bounce.
When there are many players each player takes a turn.
Each player has five lives and when they have used them all up they are out.
I do hope to create a new Capsule Wardrobe Challenge before Christmas but please bear with me.

A Bank Holiday of Beaches, Blue Skies & Roofball

Our Bank Holiday was wonderful.
We went to stay with my husband's sister and her family.
They have a lovely house in South Wales overlooking the sea.
This is the view I woke up to every morning.
We enjoyed long lazy lunches, rugby, coastal walks and my husband even won the Veteran's Roofball Championships.
Perfect.

Red Friday

Still on Friday.
Mopping up after Enrolment Day meant lots of chasing around and then sitting down twiddling thumbs.

Stripes And Denim

Apologies for the absence of posts but new job, family returning from holiday and off again to Wales for the Bank Holiday meant very little time.
This is my outfit for day four of my new job - enrolment day.
Nearly 900 new students attended the college on this day to enrol.
It was lovey to share in the happiness of achievement that these young people were feeling today.
Many had their parents with them and you could feel the pride and relief.
My son's GCSE results also came today and while I won't publish his grades I will say we were very happy too.
He has decided to remain at his school rather than study at a sixth form centre.
He will be studying A-levels in Maths, Physics, PE and Product Design.

Smart Casual

So, the dress code at my new place of work is smart/casual.
However, when the students are not in college then anything goes - jeans, shorts - as long as it is decent.
How cool is that?
While the senior management team tend to wear suits whether the students are in or not, I have no aspirations in that area.
My official title is Progress Coach.
It is a new role and there are 10 of us who have all started together.
Everyone seems very friendly and so far it seems a happy place to work.
Today, we met the rest of the staff as the teachers returned.
Tomorrow we will be helping enrol students once they have collected their GCSE results.
I can't wait to start meeting the students I will be working with.
I have been told that from now to Christmas will be the hardest term - getting to know all my students, chasing UCAS forms and writing UCAS references.
But, it can't be harder than last year with the PGCE, can it?
