Beach Yoga

Briony is getting bored waiting to start university in September so we decided to take a long walk on our local beach with the dog.

Of course, I couldn't resist using the wide, empty space as  my pop up yoga mat.

Briony was not impressed.
I think she was relieved that we had the beach to ourselves.

I wore:
Trainers - Nike
Pants - Miss Selfridge
Vest - Matalan

Holiday Capsule 2015

It's that time of year again and I am off to Barcelona again soon.
I love planning my capsule wardrobe.
Blogging since 2008 has really helped.
Here are my 6 dresses.
Two new ones and four old favourites.
Two tops and two bottoms.

5 bikinis

3 beach dresses
Travel Outfit
 3 pairs of shoes.
I will also add my running shoes, workout kit, nightie and underwear and that's it - all fits into a cabin bag.

Do you have a holiday capsule formula?

Happy 18th Birthday.

On June 12 my baby girl turned 18.

She also shares her birthday with my brother and as we celebrated with a girly weekend in London we were able to meet up as he works in the city.

The hotel we stayed in had a sky bar so we enjoyed a drink or two.

This was followed by a meal at the Duck & Waffle - London's highest restaurant.

The next day we went to the V&A to see The Savage Beauty exhibition.

And some shopping in Oxford Street

.And her favourite shop.

We ended the day with another meal.

After a morning stroll we rounded the trip off at Harvey Nicks.

I just can't believe how quick it has all gone.

It's been a while....

So sorry I have not posted for a while but life has been chaotic.
As well as working full time I have been teaching five yoga classes a week and attending lots of courses and workshops.
This week I break up for six weeks holiday and I hope to have more time for blogging and catching up with my favourite blogs.
This week I travelled to Oxford University for two days to take students on the Open Day.

The weather was glorious and I managed to find time for a yoga class at Yoga Quota and Pimms on the river.
We stayed at the amazing Christchurch.

I couldn't resist an explore with some yoga thrown in!

Birthday Girl

It's my birthday today.
49.
How did I get here?
Where did the years go?
I have always loved my birthday.
I usually celebrated it in the school holidays as half-term falls around this time and now I am working in education I can make the most of the day.
Today will be spent meeting up with a good friend and enjoying good food with my family.
I haven't posted much over the past six months due to my second job as a yoga teacher - I now teach five classes and week and you can follow my yoga blog here.
However, I am not ready to let this blog go yet.
I will continue to post when I think my posts are relevant for this blog.
For now I will spend some time catching up with everyone.
And as well as being my birthday it's also Chinese New Year so Happy New Year too.

Today I wore:
Boots - Marks and Spencer
Skirt - Gap
T-shirt - birthday present from my son.

Confessions of a Yogi

I am teaching my first 'proper' yoga class tonight and I am terrified.
Since I qualified I have been teaching classes to staff and students at the college where I work and to the children at the school where my son teaches.
But tonight I will be charging.
I am scared no-one will turn up.
I am scared too many people will turn up.
I am scared I will forget my plan.
Lucky I practice yoga and I know that however scared I am, if I breathe slowly and calmly I will be OK.

The Theory of Everything

So here it is, another New Year.
As usual we celebrated it quietly at home with a few friends and family while our four children went off to their own respective parties, coming hom at 4am, 6am, 11am and 2pm the next day!
While our children were recovering I took my my mum to see 'The Theory of Everything' and what a wonderful film it was, having me on the verge of tears several times.
I enjoyed the film so much I came home and bought the memoir by Jane Hawking on which the film is based.
It has been so long since I have immersed myself in a book not related to yoga - talking of which, I will be starting teaching a new class on Monday which I am both excited and terrified about.
I have set myself some goals for 2015 which will include lots more teaching and learning.
Have you set yourself some goals yet?
