Monday: Who's That Girl?
When I look in the mirror or look back at photographs I have taken of myself, I no longer recognise the face that is staring back.
If I had a (much) older sister then that is who I think stares back at me from the mirror.
The tired eyes, the inability to smile, the jowlier face.
It is not the person I imagine myself to be.
Sorry for the morose post.
I didn't intend it to be that way today.
I wore:
Boots - Clarks
Skirt & Blouse - M & Co
Cardigan - Gap

Sorry you are feeling down. Hugs. I think you look beautiful in this post. I hear you, though. I am beginning to get some wrinkles and am feeling sad about my youth leaving me behind. At least we have great style :)
ReplyDeletei know exactly what you mean - without a mirror, i still feel as if i'm looking out through my eyes as of twenty years ago. i haven't changed that much inwardly, but externally the change is striking. it's not always what i want to see.
ReplyDeleteYou're gorgeous! I think if you pretend you're a goddess, even if you don't always believe it, other people will treat you as though you are, and that helps you to believe!
ReplyDeleteWrinkles and tiredness and the general changes of age, yeah, I tick all those boxes too - but look how stylish we are! Great outfit, the cardi is a fab colour. xxxx
you look wonderful! and i honestly really like your outfit :)
ReplyDeletebut I think more than anything you should take a day for yourself and go to the spa if you haven't done it. sometimes what you are seeing isn't really what is looking at you in the mirror, but more of the internal tired person.
Oh, yellow just always looks so good with grey. I know what you mean about the stranger in the mirror. My solution has been to avoid the mirror!
ReplyDeleteI don't see what you see - I see a beautiful woman in this blog! Hope you get to feeling better! ox
ReplyDeleteYou see something different to us as we see a stunning woman who looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteX x
I understand Jane - I don't recognize myself sometimes. I look at the mirror and see my mom !
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what you looked like before, but you look beautiful now :)
I know the feeling, I often look in the mirror and wonder who it is looking back. I just tell myself I had a fantastic time getting those wrinkles. Love that yellow on you, hope you feel happier today. x
