How Low Can You Go?
I have decided that my skirts need to be a little lower.
I know shorter skirts = longer legs but I do not feel comfortable in any length above my knees.
I measured the length of my favourite skirt and it is 21 inches long.
From now on anything shorter will not be worn by me unless it is a Fancy Dress.
I love this skirt I am wearing from Next but it is going back today.

Hi there-I'm quite conscious of skirt lengths too, but this is a nice one and with opaques too, looks fine!
ReplyDeleteDon't take it back... you look good in it. Please let it stay with you.
ReplyDeleteI agree with above comments. This skirt is great and look fab on you especially with the red jacket. Keep it. I'm thinking about getting it myself too! Ciao. A.
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list, I think you should keep the skirt. It looks great with the red!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear anything above the knee because I'm not skinny and all the fat is on my thighs and knees. You, on the other hand are, and I will add my name to the keep the skirt list.
ReplyDeleteI think this skirt looks great, especially with the tights!
ReplyDeleteI realise you can't beat personal comfort but you look great in this skirt. With opaque tights, as someone has already mentioned, you can definitely wear a skirt of this length. You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a right smart look! If it's not your thing anymore, that's definitely understood, but do know it's not for lack of looking good in the outfit. You look so darling here!

I agree with all of the above that you look great in this skirt length. Because you were modest in how you paired it; you definitely look age appropriate. However, I have found that I myself am also shying away from the shorter hemlines. Mini's were something that I wore consistently when I was younger but something I don't gravitate to now at my age. I think somewhere deep inside I feel like I may look like I'm trying to hard to look young and I definitely don't want that. If this seems to resonate with you, then I know just how weird it may feel to sport anything that's not resting right above the knee or at knee length.
ReplyDeletei really think you look amazing in this skirt. plus the tights, it's gorgeous.

Gotta agree with the other folks: you look great in this, Jane! However, I know how self-conscious a short skirt can make one feel, especially when you're *ahem* over a certain age.
ReplyDeleteI like hems just above the knee, like an inch, the best.
Thanks for the supportive comments.
ReplyDeleteI have decided to take this back.
It is a skirt I intended to work and when I sit down it rides right up my thigh.
I think I will try shorter skirts for a more casual basis but longer lengths for work.
