Back To Boots

Boots and Leggings - it must be August.
I despair of this British weather.
Five years ago I didn't even get my boots out of the cupboard until the end of October.
Now I wear them all year round.

Here is my summer 2012 look - lots of layers.

I did eventually manage to take off the cardigan around mid-afternoon but it was back on by 3pm.

I used to love summer.
I waited patiently throughout autumn, winter and spring.
But now I feel like a child who has the key to an empty sweetie shop.

The only enjoyable aspect of this summer has been the lighter morning and evenings but they will be going soon.
I am going to have to learn to love the other three seasons.

What is your favourite season and why?

I wore:
Boots - Clarks
Leggings - Tesco
Lacy Top - Local boutique
Scarf - Next
Caridgan - Matalan
Ski Jacket - TK Maxx

  1. My boots will be on today - shopping for last minute school items! My favourite season is Autumn when we get those cool crisp sunny days - I hope. X

  2. I rather like getting my tights and boots back on, but I know what you mean, British summers are something of a non-event nowadays.
Those clear, bright Autumn/Spring days are great but the general gloom ahead is a bit depressing!
Still, you always look wonderful in those tan boots, if that's any consolation! xxxx

  3. Summer remains my favourite season, it was weird walking up the shop at 8.30 last night and it was dark. I feel weird as Autumn approaches, I think it is because my birthday is in December and I hate getting old!

  4. Spring & autumn - they remind me of the British weather... :)
We still have summer here, even though the temperatures have dropped a bit, from 37 degrees last week to about 27 this week - a considerable change, yet still warm. Mornings and evenings are quite chilly, though.

  5. I'm a summer babe through and through, as soon as Autumn rears it's ugly head I'm getting the Lonely planet out and researching our next flight to India. I can't understand anyone getting excited about wearing woollens! xxx

  6. I love autumn and winter - I enjoy the dark mornings and evenings, the gloom, the clouds, the rain and wind. Lots of people think I'm strange, but, on the other hand, it's very VERY rare to hear me complain about British weather! I don't feel the cold much, either (I know you are further north than me, but I was in short sleeves yesterday!).

And winter has Christmas, my favourite time of year!

You look fantastic, by the way. Love the boots.

  7. Your casual outfit looks so pulled together. The top is very pretty and perfect under the cardigan.

Fall is my beloved time of the year. There is an energy in the air that is renewing and crisp. I enjoy the slightly cooler days and nights, the crisp air, the falling leaves and fall colors. Spring is a close second.

  8. Hm, I think I like autumn best clothes-wise, but my spirit is always lightest in May and June.

this is a good year-round look in spite of your frustrations.

  9. Summer for me. I love hot, not that we get much here. I could quite happily move done where nice and warm. This year has been such a let down weather wise. I'm not enjoying having to get the warm clothing out so early.

  10. Somehow I missed this post! This outfit is so darn cute. I can't wait to copy it when the weather cools down a bit more. Boots are so scrumptious!

  11. Like your layers. We are finally getting some summer weather here by the Bay, Sept. and Oct. are often our warmest months. I dislike winter, mostly because it is so dark so many hours, the other three seasons are great.

  12. I love them all! Summer for the sunshine, long evenings and outdoor eating. Autumn for the still warm sunshine and wonderful colours. Winter for those beautiful crisp frosty mornings, and spring for the blossom, daffodils and the promise of summer to come!

Wardrobe wise though, I much prefer my autumn/winter/spring wardrobe. Layers, scarves, boots, opaque tights. Not long to go now :-)
