Week 4: Thursday

I love the sleeves on this blouse.
I love the vibrant red.
It may be a bit dressy for work but I cannot resist this blouse on a cold and frosty morning.
Today was the College Careers Convention and it was very pleasing to see a whole sports hall filled with exhibitors, and even more pleasing to see students queuing up outside the door to get in.
When I was at sixth form college our careers advice consisted of a shelf of books in the library.
Our UCAS form, or UCCA form as it was called was handwritten and the personal statement consisted of one paragraph.
I was fortunate enough to get into my first choice university - Bangor University - where I studied a BA (Hons) English.
I graduated in 1988.
I often wonder what I would do if I was 18 again.
How about you?

I wore:
Shoes - Clarks
Skirt - Marks and Spencer
Blouse - Primark

  1. Oh that blouse is fabulous! I don't think it's too dressy, it's stylish and unusual, and who says work wear shouldn't be?!
I did an English degree here in Sheffield, 1982-5. We did all the research into courses on our own, made our choices and filled in the UCCA form with no help from school at all. Yes, all handwritten, as were all my essays at university. Seems strange now, doesn't it?!

  2. I know if I could do my degrees again that I would go after a degree in history to compliment the degrees in English. I love the sleeves on this--they kind of remind me of the sleeves on the gown I have to wear when I go through graduation for our students each year. Is that part of your job responsibilities too?

  3. Lovely blouse, Jane. If I could go back I would probably study law instead of foreign languages and translation studies. But If I did I wouldn't be here in the UK now or had my lovely kids and writing to lovely you in this moment. Have a great weekend. Ciao. A.x
