Spring Capsule Wardrobe Challenge Day Four

This outfit brings out by inner ballerina.
I have spoken before about the heartache of missing out on ballet lessons so the yearning lies deep.
I can almost smell the dust, see the cracked panes of glass and feel the uneven wooden floor of the church hall/ballet school where I never got to be.
Ah well!
I got an interesting response to my suggestion yesterday that I make the challenge harder next time.
Many of you hardcore challengers have suggested stretching the challenge a whole week.
So who is up for the extra few days?

  1. I am impressed with you ladies... the outfits you were able to create are so chic.

Love this "ballerina" ensemble... you are so pretty. xoxo

  2. Wow, I must be up late if it's day 4 for you already! (11 PM here on Wednesday, my time.)

I'm amazed at how that blue wrap top is so versatile - it just looks like a sleek sweater, and not bulky at all even though we know it's quite long. You were so smart to include this in your capsule mix.

I think that this time around, I'd have a hard time stretching the challenge to the weekend - I didn't plan to include any casual outfits in the mix. Next time if I know in advance, I'd definitely be up for a 7-day challenge with the same amount of items.

  3. The wrap is just amazing, everytime I see you wear it I long to have one.

Hmm, I'm pretty tempted at trying stretching my outfits for the weekend.. Maybe at least for saturday (sunday we have dance practice pretty much all day).

  5. Lovely outfit! I like 'ballerina style' as well; plus my daughter is a very keen ballerina herself, so I'm partial...

    Another two days? Why not?

  6. Hello Small Fabric - I've just found you! Love the blue wrap/ballet outfit but I've noticed that you haven't worn the FC tan and black dress yet. So my challenge is to do something creative with it - maybe including the Clarks black boots?

  7. I did it for a week in the autumn, and it was fine (although I did add one extra item). It's quite fun to have the weekend days, because you can wear more casual/mad outfits, but it's a lot of work for me to take a picture every day, which is why I am only doing it for 5 days this time round. Although I am doing it with only 10 items overall, so I probably qualify as 'hardcore' anyway...

  8. Nice wrap cardi!

P.S.: I am moving my blog. (janetteria.com), but I have a big problem with DNS of blogger.com and now the blog update is not working. (for example: google reader, bloglist...) I hope so the problem will be resolved soon. I want let me know this. Please don't forget to visit this blog because I can make a new post for everyday, will not break my habit.♥

  9. i agree with kari -- this time around, i only planned for work outfits, but with the knowledge beforehand, i could definitely try to incorporate some casual looks into the capsule. i have several more outfits i could make with what ive already got!

  11. This is cute... you do not cease to amaze me with that blue wrap!
Now... on the challenge. maybe less pieces ? Last challenge I somehow only wore like 7 items... I'm willing to go for the challenge extension.... just a little worried my clothes will begin to smell :/ it's so hot here!

  13. I agree - there is definitely the potential to stretch it longer or include less items... however, that would definitely require more warning (and next time more planning - remind me never to just "wing it" again!!)

  14. I do like it just for the week - i.e. 5 days as usually by the weekend I've got my pre planned posts. My weekly high st pick of the week for one.

It is such fun as it is. I think I'm hardcore by doing it!

  16. I could certainly find more than 5 outfits with my 10 pieces (although a lot of them would be quite similar - they already are) BUT rather than go for a week, I would make the challenge harder by limiting the number of pieces allowed. But that's just me: what I wear for work vs the weekend is quite different (ie: fleece pants don't usually go into the office).

Fun challenge though - I am looking forward to posting my wrap up tomorrow.

  17. That blue has always been one of my favorite pieces of yours. I'd love to keep it going - I'll be on vacation so I might bow out, but I'm all for seeing what you ladies come up with! Next go round I'll TOTALLY be there for 7 days!

    xx

  18. Hi Jane, I just love your ballerina inspired outfit! I too have secret yearnings to be a ballerina that I'm sure stem from far too few dance lessons as a little girl!

I have also participated this week (its now Friday in Australia), but because its summer I didn't really have to work quite so hard!

    Here is my album
    http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm95/theresastales/YLF%20photos/Wardrobe%20Capsule%20Challenge/

Due to it still being well and truly Summer where I live, I think I would have felt more challenged with 5 articles of clothing and 10 accessories!

    Thanks for a great challenge!

  19. I just love that blue on you, Jane, and that red necklace really pops!

I'm in for a 7 day challenge! It would definitely require me to include a pair of jeans, as that's what I live in on the weekends.

  20. I love the blue wrap, it's so pretty!
I could definitely do seven days, but that would mean having to do laundry, which I was totally going to put off for another week.

  21. That blue sweater is so fabulous!
For this challenge, I'll be posting pics until Sunday. (Actually have two outfits for Sunday!)
The next challenge will be for summer, right? Yikes! That will be hard if we only have 10 clothing items since I can't layer in the summer, just too hot! Summer will be a tough challenge for me, but I'm game!

  23. It's been fun and I do agree that with planning, these same numbers could easily work for a week's wardrobe. As is, this time round I could do a few days next week from the same capsule, but would find the choices too tight for the weekend.

  24. YOu have managed to create such diferent outfits with your capsule wardrobe,I'm very impressed.
I've been having fun with mine and I'm willing to go for the extra 2 days.
Thank you for the wonderful idea.

  25. ooo that would be great! i missed out on this one, but i'm totally in for the next challenge.
