Spring Is Out There

I had my first taste of Spring yesterday.
My car is in the garage and I had to walk a lot.
For the first time since September I was able to walk for more than 30 minutes OUTSIDE without a great big coat.
I just had a denim jacket.
As I walked I could see the buds on the trees.
I could hear the children playing outside in the school yards.
And best of all I could smell Spring.
You know - that gentle green warming of the earth.
It didn't last long.
Today it is raining.
It is cold.
The walk to school this morning was nowhere near as enjoyable but I know Spring is out there.
So close I can almost touch it.
And while I think of Spring I can't help plan ahead to summer.
I have been dreaming about floaty day dresses in vibrant colours.
I can't decide between these two from Boden.
What do you think?

Today I wore:
Boots - Tesco
Skirt - Principles
Vest - Zara
Cardigan - Dorothy Perkins
Scarf - East

  1. I'd opt for the Must Have Shift (on the left) - it's got the most gorgeous neckline! I love the print on the Amalfi, though, I'm thinking about purchasing the skirt with this pattern. I'm sure you'll pick what best suits you!

  2. Boo - it seems so far from spring here! But, I admit, that on my run on Wed, I DID see snowdrops blooming and daffodil leaves emerging. It's still so so cold in Cincinnati, though. :(

  3. Oh, why can't we have spring here in the Tropics. We are experiencing summer already this early.

I love both dresses and I know they will both look good on you as red is your color. xoxo

  4. Since I live in TX we are getting a taste of spring too, so I am trying to take advantage of the coldish weather by wearing my boots as much as possible!

I love your outfit today! And both those dresses are gorgeous but I think I am partial to the shift style with the larger polka dots (I just bought a very similar one in blue from Ann Taylor Loft!).

  5. Lucky you!I always find those first signs of spring so uplifting.
I noticed that more people are on the side of the shift dress but I like the other one better. But that's maybe because it would be the better one for me.
If I were you I would go for the dress that has a diferent cut from the ones that I already have.

  6. It is good to share views. The problem is I love the pattern of the polka dots and the shape of the other dress.

  7. I love the polka dots- but the a-line of the other is more flattering on (MY) figure... they should combine the two.

Lol I just read your comment... two minds that think alike ;)

Very pretty outfit! I wish we had decent weather- we got 2'+ of snow last night :(

  8. Out there, where? Not here surely! It's snowing like mad and it's no more than 0 degrees. I'm so fed up with it! I've never seen so much snow in England before. Love your skirt. Cannot think of skirts and light clothes at the moment!!! Have a nice weekend. Ciao. A.

  9. I agree, the polka dot fabric in the other style. But - if I had to choose just one I think it would be the polka dot dress. It just looks like fun.

  10. I love the play of patterns with your scarf and the striped skirt. It's been hinting at spring here, too, and I can't wait.

  12. I love both of those dresses, especially the one with the big polka dots!

You look so pretty today. Sending you scents of pink cherry blossoms!

  13. I think the polka dot pattern seems more "you" - just my impression. Both dresses are pretty, though.

I hope that your spring weather comes back soon. We've really had a few lovely days this week. Usually we have gray, overcast weather through May or June, so I'll take whatever I can get.
