I know I said I wouldn't post but I need your help.

I hate my hair.
I am suffering from January hair.
Static from constant central heating.
Lifeless after a month of eating rubbish.
Dark and dull due to the lack of sunshine.
I was growing it.
But I want to cut it.
Before I do here's a flashback to three looks:short, medium and long (for me).
My hair.
Should it go or should it stay?
You decide!

  1. I think short really frames your face well!

  2. Total stranger here, but I think the short is the cutest on you. It looks modern and youthful.

  3. I like the one where you're wearing the pink top the most. :D
I'm about to rip mine out by the roots as well.

  4. I agree with the other comments that the shorter cut is cute, youthful and modern.

I've recently gone through the same dilemma. I think over a couple of months I went from a bob cut of various lengths and to the pixie cut. I'm loving the pixie cut.

  5. I love the "short." It looks so polished and really highlights your face.

  6. Short, it's lovely, fresh and youthful!

  7. I love the way the short frames your face by bringing out your best features....which have got to be those eyes! You also have a slim neck and that always gets kind of hidden when one has long hair. I say if you have these beautiful assets...show them off:)

  8. I like the hair in the last photo the most. You look vibrant!

  9. I too vote for the short! Very chic!

  10. I love your hair now, with the bangs. That's the last photo right?

  11. I love your hair at the shorter length, just above chin length. Coincidentally that's also the optimum length for my own hair - any longer and it starts to misbehave.

  12. Short, no question. It frames your face perfectly and makes you look 10 years younger.

  13. I'm voting short. It's SO flattering!! :)

  14. First of all, your hair is GORGEOUS, lady, all the time, but I actually like the short one for you. It's so pretty!

  15. Short, the way you have it with the pink shirt. Very pretty.

  16. I love your hair shorter too - have you ever had it shorter than in the 'short' photo? You have a very delicate, pretty face and the longer hair overwhelms your face a bit. I think you could carry off a 'short, short' cut but that might be a bit too drastic for you.

Winter is a rotten time of year for skin and hair isn't it? Hope a new haircut lifts you a bit - although I do agree with Julia that I have never seen your hair look bad, ever! :-)

    Many,many thanks.

  20. It looks like there is consensus - Short. There is something about getting a haircut that just puts a little extra zip in life.

  22. SHORT! it's very stylish, frames your face well, and makes you look younger than the other cuts.

  23. I love you in the shortest hair cut - so cute on you!

  24. Short (the one in pink) is my favorite!
You look polished and you can flaunt that pretty neck :)

  27. The short is awesome!
And..I have straight hair also, use a spray on conditioner after toweling off, and it helps with the static!!

  28. Love, love the short look Jane.

I understand your need to take a break, but hope you won't be gone forever. I'll miss you. I haven't been here for a while, but appreciate your occasional visits to my blog. I've always liked your style and your blog.

    Best wishes to you...!

  29. Definitely the short looks best on you, maybe even a bit shorter. I too am tired of Xmas eating and would like to do something to my hair, maybe bangs..

  30. I came on to say "definitely short, you look fabulous, young, perky, chic with the short bob", but it has been said 30+ times already! Hope you're already enjoying your new "do" :-)

  31. You have won a giveaway on my blog!!

  32. I love the short bob that hits at your chin - it's so flattering on you.

There's nothing worse than trying to grow out your hair during cold weather. I gave up in
September and chopped all mine off (again).

  33. I think you're hearing "SHORT" loud and clear! That photo with the pink top is beautiful.

But, generally, try not to panic too much about your hair; when I moved here, someone said to me, "Oh, yes, English women, they have wonderful skin and terrible hair!"

.... I think it's the relatively damp climate - and you do have wonderful skin!

  34. i love your short hair! looks great. you are so beautiful! :)

  35. I love it short!!!! I think we all know what the readers choice is ;)

  37. please come back soon... I would like to see your hair! and of course your fab posts!
Too late I'm sure, but my tuppence would be pic 3, short and light, the one in your pink top x

  38. Argh only just noticed the post time!
Look the short is wonderful but I also like the long - the mid length is a bit nothing on you.

As you are petite the short looks wonderful but then you can always put long hair up - also the long hair photo isn't as sharp as the short hair one!

  41. Hi Jane - Emma from Integrity Recruitment Solutions here. I found your blog! We met last night at your Train 2000 PR workshop. I think your hair looks prettiest in the photo where you are sporting the fuschia top. Keep in touch!
